Music

Choose songs that have a familiar rhythm and tone, it makes the words easier to memorize.

Choose your songs based on themes you’re learning in the classroom.

Add your own words to familiar beats rather than singing the traditional song.

Begin teaching the song by singing it slowly to the class.

Invite children to join in while you sing it.

Repeat the song every day.

Teach the words children don’t know. Use pictures or flannel board pieces.

Visual aids help children remember words much easier.

Add movement to the songs.

Record children singing the song.

Send a copy of the song home so children can sing it at home with their parents.
